DISABILITY

The management of disability in children and adolescents requires the integration of different aspects such as cognitive, motor and sensory development, and different situations such as maternal dependency, family environment, school and friends.
Concepts and situations isolated in practice, but that influences one another, so we should be able to fit them together among themselves and deal with them in its entirety within the rehabilitation program.

For a time we have lived with the idea that there were few children and a specific rehabilitation was not necessary. This has delayed the understanding of childhood disability and development of rehabilitation programs for these age groups.

The children's rehabilitation requires well-trained professionals. It would be interesting if these professionals would dedicate themselves to this and develop educational programs in all areas and at all development stages.
Only in this way will extensive knowledge be attained in child and youth disability and may be put into rehabilitation programs with the overall approach to disability.
In the bibliography, terms are used indiscriminately, such as chronic diseases, physical limitations and disability, and in terms of physical constraints, there is no reference to whether they are mild or severe.
